Screen care
How to clean a screen safely
The safest cleaning method uses little pressure, little moisture and no harsh household chemicals. Always follow the device manufacturer’s instructions first.
Turn it off and let it cool
Disconnect power when practical. A dark, cool panel makes marks easier to find and reduces the risk of liquid reaching powered electronics.
Start with a dry microfiber cloth
Use a clean, soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Wipe gently in broad passes. Do not use paper towels, tissues or abrasive fabric, which may leave fibers or micro-scratches.
Use minimal moisture
For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth—not the screen—with distilled water or a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Never spray liquid directly onto the panel or allow it to collect along an edge.
Inspect without over-polishing
Let the surface dry, power it on and show a white or gray screen to find remaining marks. Repeat only where necessary; repeated hard rubbing can damage coatings.
